Job summary

Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital in Turlock, California seeks a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join our full-service practice. You will conduct exams, diagnose, and perform surgeries with a collaborative team.

Qualified DVM or VMD, state license, DEA registration, and 1+ year experience are preferred. We offer a generous sign-on bonus, incentives up to $50,000, CE stipend, licensing reimbursement, wellbeing support, and a supportive home‑hospital environment.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal communication.
• Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care.
• Client communication skills to explain diagnoses clearly.
• Confidence handling pets in stress, illness, or pain.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient examinations and medical work-ups.
• Communicate and educate clients about diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and prescribe medications following protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor daily hospital operation protocols from intake to discharge.
• Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible for high‑quality care.
• Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
