Job summary

The City of Cleveland is seeking a Part-Time Domestic Violence Program Facilitator to conduct educational group sessions for perpetrators of domestic violence as part of the Domestic Intervention Education and Training Program/Grant.

Responsibilities include facilitating 2-hour weekly groups, using the Cincinnati CBT curriculum, developing safety plans, and maintaining intake and progress notes; a strong emphasis on dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Ability to exercise maturity, good judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
• Must be trained in the University of Cincinnati’s Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Interpersonal Violence curriculum.
• Effective communication with clients, judges, probation officers, attorneys, administrators, providers, and the general public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties and manage time.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate 2-hour weekly group sessions for perpetrators.
• Lead open-ended groups using the curriculum and role plays.
• Assign and monitor homework and group work.
• Assist participants with safety plan development.
• Prepare group notes and progress reports for each participant.
• Develop discharge plan with recommendations for linkages.
• Report program violations to the Probation Officer.
• Assist participants with basic reading and writing difficulties.
• Complete intake and risk/need assessments for each participant.
