Job summary

Saia is seeking a warehouse associate to load and unload freight, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensure safe, compliant handling of shipments at our Montgomery, AL facility. Responsibilities include following bill and quality control procedures, logging shortages and damages, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment while delivering efficient, cost-effective shipments.

Prior forklift certification or hazmat training preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and related dock equipment.
Ability to lift and move objects of various shapes, sizes and weights.
Willingness to follow safety protocols and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

Loads and unloads trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks and related equipment following DOT regulations.
Operates dock tools to secure freight and maintain straps, bars, air bags, cardboard and dunnage.
Loads, recoups, rewraps and stacks freight as needed; verifies shipments by labels and secure handling.
Follows established bill and quality control procedures to ensure timely, claims-free shipments.
Logs, reports, and processes shortages and damages to freight; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
