Hiring Part‑Time Dock Workers

Part‑time dock workers at $23.35/hr.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely and claim‑free.
• Maximize space when loading freight.
• Complete pre and post‑trip inspections on all dock equipment.
• Properly document all freight control processes.
• Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs.
• Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating shifts and/or assignments.
• Adhere to operational procedures and guidelines in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Basic math skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Able to pass a drug screen.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to perform routine physical tasks such as ascending/descending forklifts, operating forklifts, handling freight and equipment, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, climbing, and entering trailers. Regular use of scanners and computer systems.
