Job summary

Loudoun Hunger Relief (LHR) in Leesburg, VA is seeking a part-time Distribution Center & Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic team. This hands-on role supports volunteers and partners to keep daily operations running smoothly in a busy warehouse and marketplace setting.

You will help with receiving and processing donations, inventory management, and ensuring a welcoming shopping experience for clients, while collaborating with staff and volunteers under the guidance of the Director of

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Location Flexibility: ability to work at both Leesburg and Sterling locations as needed.
• Warehouse experience: background managing inventory, supplies, or equipment.
• Data management: ability to maintain reliable, accurate records for reporting.
• Independence & teamwork: work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, process, and store incoming donations and orders with accurate inventory.
• Sort and process perishable and non-perishable items following storage guidelines.
• Maintain a tidy, safe warehouse and manage recycling and waste/compost.
• Stock and stage products to ensure a smooth, efficient shopping experience for clients.
• Coordinate tasks and support volunteers; assist in events on-site and off-site.

STATUS: Non-Exempt/Part-Time

SCHEDULE: Part-Time: Up to 30 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY

This hands-on position is ideal if you enjoy working with people, collaborating with a team, and making a tangible difference in the community. As a Distribution Center and Warehouse Associate, you will work closely with dedicated volunteers and community partners to keep our daily operations running smoothly. Operating in a dynamic warehouse and marketplace environment, you will use your strong problem-solving skills to ensure an efficient, welcoming shopping experience for our clients.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

• Receiving & Logistics: Receive, unload, process, and store incoming food donations and orders while maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Food Processing & Quality Assurance: Sort and process both perishable and non-perishable food items following specific food storage guidelines.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain a tidy, safe, and accessible warehouse, including recycling and overseeing waste and compost.

Market Operations & Team Support

• Create Market Flow: Stock and stage products to ensure a smooth, efficient shopping experience for clients while providing excellent customer service.
• Volunteer Support: Coordinate tasks and support volunteers working throughout the facility.
• Event Assistance: Help execute special events both on-site and off-site.
• Flexible Support: Complete general warehouse operations, facility cleaning, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education & Logistics

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Location Flexibility: Ability to work at both our Leesburg and Sterling locations as needed.

Experience & Operations

• Warehouse Experience: Background managing inventory, supplies, or equipment.
• Stock & Delivery: Experience receiving and processing inventory or delivering goods.
• Data Management: Skill in maintaining reliable, accurate records for reporting.
• Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Physical Requirements & Certifications

• Physical Capability: Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Forklift Certification: Ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
• Food Safety Certification: Ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.

PART-TIME POSTION BENEFITS : Part-time employees get paid time off for federal holidays that fall during regular working hours.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

This position will have to stand, bend and lift. Up to 40lbs may occasionally need to be carried. This is a full-time position.
