Job summary

Easterseals NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality support to individuals with I/DD in residential and community settings. The role includes implementing ISPs, assisting with daily living activities, and transporting residents as needed.

Requirements include at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office are desired.

Since 1948, Easterseals New Jersey has worked to meet the continuously growing needs of people with disabilities and their families. Its services for individuals with mental health conditions provide daily living support and community-based programs that teach valuable life skills through instruction and real-world experiences.

What You'll Do:

The Direct Support Professional provides high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by fostering strong relationships in the residential group home and community settings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) including but not limited to, feeding, toileting, assistance with hygiene, monitoring and/or administering medications and all areas of adult daily living skills.
• Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for daily living, transportation, medication and more.
• Transports consumers within the community using the company van.
• Deliver high-quality services in community, residential, and facility settings.
• Build strong relationships with consumers and external stakeholders.

Who You Are:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Education:High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience:At least 6 months of previous experience in direct care or related field preferred.
• Requirements:Possess a valid driver's license & clean driving record.
• Skills:Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
