Job summary

Progressive Directions, Inc. is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM day shift in Hickman County, TN. This role supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting independence and community involvement.

The DSP will assist with daily living tasks, transportation, and documentation, with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and additional coverage as needed. This position offers PTO, sick leave, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
• Must have valid unrestricted driver’s license.
• Negative pre-employment drug screen may be required.
• Must be dependable and report to scheduled shifts on time.
• Ability to safely transport persons supported as required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Satisfactory criminal background and required registry checks.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Preparing meals, grocery shopping, and completing household tasks.
• Administering medications according to agency policy and training.
• Following Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
• Completing daily documentation and medication records.
• Providing transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.
• Supporting individuals in making choices and building independence.
• Communicating changes or concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment.
