Job summary

Southwest Community Services is seeking a Part-Time Direct Care Aide located in Nevada, MO to assist adults with developmental disabilities at home and in the community. You will help with daily living skills, hygiene, and participate in community activities.

Highlights include transporting clients, administering medications, taking vitals, and monitoring wellbeing. This role requires up to 20 hours per week and a valid driver’s license; training is provided.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Must be 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

• Transport individuals to appointments and activities in state vehicles.
• Administer medications and take vitals.
• Assist with daily living and hygiene tasks (feeding, bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Observe, report and record changes in physical condition, behavior, and emotional status.
• Participate in activities with individuals (swimming, shopping, games, outings).
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Note: heavy lifting and standing may be required; up to 20 hours per week.
