Job summary

The University of Utah Health Huntsman Cancer Institute seeks a part-time Research Assistant/Analyst to support digital health interventions for skin cancer prevention. You will recruit participants, prepare materials for appointments, lead focus groups, and monitor study progress with basic descriptive statistics.

Two Dr. Tammy Stump-led projects will guide your activities; we expect a Bachelor’s degree in a social/behavioral field and proven research and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience)
• one year of experience in research and analytical techniques
• demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience
• demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Establishing trusting and collaborative relationships with teachers, other school staff, and families participating in research studies
• Preparation of materials and staff for school visits
• Utilizing a structured protocol to lead classroom activities for skin cancer prevention and collect survey data from students
• Documenting activities and outcomes in appropriate databases
• Compiling reports summarizing study progress
• Attending team meetings to discuss progress, successes, and challenges
• Participating in ongoing training to maintain fidelity to protocols and other research required training
• Other duties as assigned
