Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Loss Prevention professional responsible for safeguarding customers, team members, and vendors. The role involves investigating theft, safety inspections, surveillance, evidence gathering and testifying in court when required.

Responsibilities include conducting exterior and interior inspections, reviewing reports, collaborating with leadership, and maintaining rigorous safety standards in a retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects building exterior/parking lot to mitigate hazards.
• Conducts walking inspections of backroom and sales floor.
• Reviews cashier exception reports.
• Conducts internal theft surveillance.
• Reviews theft activity reports and follows up as needed.
• Conducts shoplifting surveillance.
• Reports safety hazards to Store Leadership for action.
• Tests and inspects camera equipment for proper operation.
• Reviews alarm system printer for suspicious activity.
• Participates in apprehension and assists in prosecution of external theft.
• Engages in documentation and writing of incident histories.
• Testifies in criminal or civil court proceedings.
• Adheres to safety practices and policies.
• Practices 200% safety accountability.
• Performs other duties as required.

Responsible for investigating of internal and external theft, to include ORC (Organized Retail Crime) activity.
