Job summary

Adams-Hometown-Markets in Thomaston, CT is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers, prepare and serve deli products, and maintain a clean, organized counter. Qualifications

• Zero to one year retail/grocery experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Part-time role with 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the deli counter and provide info on products, sales and promotions.
• Rotate products using FIFO to sell older items first.
• Take orders for sliced meats and cheeses and ensure accuracy.
• Slice, weigh and package deli items per customer preferences and store policies.
• Maintain deli prep and service areas per health dept. regulations.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards and proper storage.
• Update price tags and ensure correct labeling as needed.
• Communicate inventory and issues to leadership and assist as directed.
