Job summary

Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, NJ seeks part-time group fitness instructors to provide engaging, safe classes with a focus on customer service. Early mornings 4:45AM–8:30AM and weekends are required.

Instructors must hold current certifications (ACE/AFAA/AAAI/Zumba/Body Pump/Schwinn Spin) and maintain CE credits. Responsibilities include punctual class starts, safety, sign‑in procedures, and collaboration with the Health & Fitness team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a Group Fitness Instructor.
• Current ACE, AFAA, AAAI, Zumba, Body Pump, or Schwinn Spin certifications and related CE credits.

Responsibilities

• Be punctual at the start and end of all classes.
• Provide group fitness instruction in a safe, enthusiastic, professional manner.
• Maintain high level of customer service with members.
• Keep current certifications for your class type.
• Ensure a safe, well‑rounded environment in the studios.
• Collaborate with other staff to serve members.
• Arrange substitute instructors for scheduled classes.
• Attend staff meetings and assist with events as needed.
• Know emergency procedures (evacuation, fire alarms).
• Report unsafe conditions and equipment malfunctions.
• Provide accurate information about events and programs.
• Sign in via hand scan; record participant counts.
• Avoid inappropriate conversations; maintain professionalism.
• Report studio matters to the Assistant Fitness Director/Coordinator.
• Additional duties as required.
