Job summary

Rutgers University-Newark is seeking a part-time instructor for the Spring 2027 Data Science courses within the Math & Computer Science Department. The candidate should be prepared to teach introductory mathematics and statistics for Data Science, with preference for Python and base R experience.

Industry experience in data analytics is a plus, and duties include syllabus creation, office hours, grading, and timely feedback.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Data Science, Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, or other data-driven fields.
• Cover letter/Letter of Application, Teaching statement, Curriculum Vitae, List of Professional References (contact information).

Responsibilities

• Prepare course material and develop a syllabus for each Data Science course.
• Present material during scheduled class times and hold office hours.
• Respond to student emails and provide timely feedback on assignments and exams.
• Grade assessments and submit final grades according to deadlines.
• Coordinate with department on course scheduling and online/hybrid modalities.
