The Gig

You’ll lead DivaDance classes, teaching original choreography to songs ranging from Beyoncé to Billie Eilish. Our classes serve all levels in a consistent format. Ideal candidates have a strong personality, experience creating choreography and teaching adults, and are responsive via phone or text. You will complete our online Instructor Development Program before teaching your first class.

The program includes online training, welcome, warmup, cooldown, choreography video submissions, and support from our HQ Development Team. The program cost is provided by the DivaDance Charlotte owner, with $100 of that cost returned after 3 months of teaching.

Applicants must attend three DivaDance classes before starting the instructor training program.

Hours, Compensation, Location

Teach 1 to 2 classes per week during lunch hour, evenings, or weekends. Classes include the ONE Dance Initiative studio in Fort Mill, SC at 7:00 PM on Tuesdays and/or every other Friday at 8:00 PM, with possible additional studios. Reliable transportation is required. Arrive 20 minutes early for prep. We accommodate vacation and schedule changes if communicated up to 6 weeks in advance. You may swap classes with staff when needed.

Compensation is tiered based on instructional experience, starting at $30 per class.

Instructors may choreograph routines for performances and guide performers through 5–7 rehearsals. Performance choreographers do not perform with the performers.

Staff may participate in performance programs, video shoots, and workshops not scheduled for work, with a 50% discount on member pricing and free classes.

Experience Required

Experience teaching and choreographing adults. Bonus for former dance team/drill team/cheerleader experience. Applications without choreography links will not be considered. Submit a video of your original choreography.
