Job summary

The University of Tampa is seeking part-time instructors to teach cybersecurity courses in the Cybersecurity lab. The successful candidate will teach one or two 4-hour courses per semester, provide meeting times, modify syllabi, and manage Blackboard for online support.

Strong candidates will hold a graduate degree with 18 credit hours in information security, prefer information security and network security teaching specialization, and may have professional credentials like CISSP, CISM, or CEH,

Qualifications

• Graduate degree required with at least 18 credit hours in information security related courses.
• Teaching specialization in information security and network security preferred.
• Current professional credentials such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or related certifications are preferred.
• At least five years of professional experience in information security/cybersecurity, network operations and security, or penetration testing.
• Candidates must demonstrate excellent speaking, platform and classroom teaching skills.
• Active participation in continuing education or professional organizations is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or two 4-hour courses per semester; summer courses may be available.
• Provide a meeting time for students enrolled in courses.
• Modify course syllabus with input from the department course coordinator.
• Manage the online course system (Blackboard) to supplement in-person instruction.
• Support accreditation programs (e.g., AACSB, NSA/DHS) with assurance-of-learning requirements.
