Job summary

Madison County Public Schools is seeking a part-time School Custodian for William Wetsel Middle School. The successful applicant should possess a strong work ethic and be able to perform a range of cleaning duties.

Responsibilities include cleaning hallways, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, stocking supplies, and attending meetings as required. Must lift up to 25 pounds and handle physical tasks typical of custodial work in a school setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, sit, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing and reaching.
• Provide custodial duties in a school environment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweeps, mops, scrubs, and polish hallways, classrooms, instructional areas, stairs and office space.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Picks up/empties trash and garbage containers.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Attend meetings with school administrators when required.
• Cleans snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks and entrances.
• Performs other duties assigned by school principal.

REQUIRED:

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.

SALARY RANGE:$15.26 - $19.79/hour (depending on experience), not to exceed 20 hours a week
