Job summary

Collective Montessori School Inc. in Milwaukee is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team for part-time shifts from 6:00a-10:00a or 1:00p-5:00p at 3814 W North Ave. You will help keep classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas clean and safe.

The ideal candidate has commercial cleaning experience, can pass a background check, and works well with students and staff to maintain a healthy learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Commercial cleaning experience required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize school facilities.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, offices, and common areas to maintain a clean and healthy learning environment.
• Maintain building safety and appearance.
• Empty trash and recycling, clean windows and floors, replenish restroom supplies, and ensure all school spaces are safe, orderly, and presentable for students, staff, and visitors.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door hardware, tightening furniture, changing ceiling tiles, and reporting larger issues to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with school operations and events; set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for assemblies, meetings, parent events, and other activities.
• Support health, security, and emergency preparedness; monitor safety hazards and respond to spills or emergencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Clean and Sanitize School Facilities
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, offices, and common areas to maintain a clean and healthy learning environment
• Maintain Building Safety and Appearance
• Empty trash and recycling, clean windows and floors, replenish restroom supplies, and ensure all school spaces are safe, orderly, and presentable for students, staff, and visitors
• Perform Basic Maintenance and Repairs
• Complete minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door hardware, tightening furniture, changing ceiling tiles, and reporting larger maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel
• Assist with School Operations and Events
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for assemblies, meetings, parent events, and other school activities, ensuring spaces are prepared and restored afterward
• Support Health, Security, and Emergency Preparedness
• Monitor the building for safety hazards, secure doors and windows, respond promptly to spills or emergencies, and follow school procedures for cleaning, safety, and emergency response.

Salary Range: $16-$20, based on experience
