Job summary

Fitchburg State University invites qualified professionals to join its part-time adjunct faculty pool in the Computer Science Department. The university seeks dedicated individuals who can teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to the department’s teaching excellence.

Teaching may include hardware and software courses, programming in Java/Python, networks and databases, and other courses that meet department needs.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree or a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of work experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field; commitment to excellence in teaching.
Ability to teach courses in a variety of programming languages and other courses is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to integrate appropriate instructional technology and innovative teaching techniques is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
Preference will also be given to flexible applicants who can develop/teach courses that contribute to both our undergraduate Computer Science and Computer Information Systems programs and our Computer Science Masters program.

Responsibilities

Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate CS/CIS courses (Java/Python, networks, databases).
Provide high-quality learning environments in classrooms, laboratories and studios.
Contribute to undergraduate CS and CIS programs and the MS CS program.
Offer remote options when appropriate.
