American Red Cross is seeking a part-time courier in Chicago to drive a vehicle for pickup, delivery and storage of products and lightweight materials on an assigned route or as needed for Blood Services.
Responsibilities include loading, verifying orders, keeping inventory, and providing courteous customer service while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. A valid driver's license and high school equivalency are required, with prior messenger/trucking experience preferred.

We are seeking a customer-focused, compassionate individual to drive an American Red Cross vehicle to pick-up, deliver and properly store products and other lightweight materials following an assigned route or on an as-needed basis. You would also perform additional transport or loading duties to support ARC Blood Services.
As a Red Cross Team member, you will take care of your team members - show up for every shift and give 100% while you're there. Interact in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times

16 hours a week; Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 PM-2:30 AM
Pay rate starts at $16.60 an hour. There is also shift differential compensation for all hours worked on the weekend ($2.00 more per hour for this shift.)
If selected, must be able to attend New Employee Orientation for the first 3 days of employment. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The remaining training will be on the job.
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs unassisted. Frequently required to push carts weighing up to 100 pounds on flat flooring or ramps. Frequently required to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. Able to withstand temperatures in a typical blood banking environment including refrigerators and freezers. Position may require climbing of step ladders. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
