Job summary

The Main Place in Mt. Vernon, OH is seeking a Part-Time Cook to support our community-focused dining program. This onsite role involves preparing nutritious homestyle meals, including a continental breakfast and mid-day lunches for 25–35 people, with meals ready by 11:30 AM.

You’ll help manage inventory and contribute to a caring, peer-supported environment. Experience in cooking nutritious meals and budgeting with local pantry resources is valued.

Qualifications

• Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare nutritious homestyle meals including entrees and sides.
• Experience in managing a limited food budget and using local food pantry resources.
• Willingness to work with individuals who have lived experiences of mental illness; empathy and patience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare continental breakfast items and set out food for early risers.
• Cook hearty homestyle lunches for 25–35 people; meals ready to serve by 11:30 AM.
• Monitor and manage food inventory to ensure fresh ingredients are available for meals.
• Contribute to a patient-focused, supportive dining environment.
