Job summary

Wake Technical Community College seeks adjunct faculty to teach one or more CompTIA courses in Non-Credit Computer Education for Workforce Continuing Education. This part-time, temporary position will provide quality instruction across multiple sites based on class schedules.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and presentation skills, solid organizational abilities, and at least an associate's degree with three years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Three years of related work experience.
• Associate's degree required.
• Proficiency with technology-enabled instruction.

Responsibilities

• Prepares instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives
• Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
• Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
• Instructs and guides the class in an energetic, efficient, and effective manner
• Develops a schedule of instruction
• Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
• Uses formative and/or summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
• Designs traditional and/or online curriculum
• Maintains communication with course committee instructors and participates in instructional discussions
• Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
• Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
• Supports the Department, Division, and College goals, providing requested data in a timely manner
