Job summary

Alfred State College in Alfred, NY, seeks a Part-Time Assistant Athletic Trainer (18 hours/week) to assist the Head Athletic Trainer and staff in injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehab for 18 intercollegiate sports.

You will maintain medical records, coordinate referrals, and work with coaches/physicians to support athlete health and program goals. Salary commensurate with part-time role and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• NATA certification and NYS licensure or eligible before start; First Aid & CPR required.
• Experience with student athletes at the collegiate level.
• Willingness to travel with teams as directed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical evaluation and injury triage to student athletes during practice/competition.
• Provide daily injury prevention, on-site evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation.
• Maintain confidential medical records and physician referrals.
• Coordinate inventory, receiving and stocking of athletic training supplies/equipment.
• Collaborate with coaches, staff, athletes and team physician.
• Support department strategic/operational goals.
