Job summary

Florida National University, Inc. seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapy faculty member to provide instruction and career advisement to students, maintain grades, and develop course objectives, outlines, syllabi, and competencies in alignment with accreditation standards.

The role requires timely communication, adherence to FERPA, Title IX, and regulatory compliance, and participation in university committees and events. A bachelor’s or higher degree in Respiratory Care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CoARC-accredited program with at least an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC credential.
• Two years of adult critical care experience; ACLS certified.
• If training neonatal ICU, two years in NICU and NRP certification.
• Clinical experience in PFT and Sleep Studies is a plus.
• To teach didactic courses, a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Respiratory Care or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction (didactic or clinical) and career advisement to students.
• Maintain grades and develop course objectives, outlines, syllabi, and competencies.
• Respond promptly to communications; address inquiries professionally.
• Ensure compliance with Title IX, FERPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and program evaluation.
• Manage and protect library or clinical resources used for coursework.
• Oversee licensing/accreditation requirements and program improvements.
• Support and participate in university events and self-studies.
• Perform duties assigned by the Program Director or supervisor.
• Assist in clinical education guidelines under DCE direction.
