Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's CPS team seeks a Clinical Staff Pharmacist to apply clinical expertise, review orders, dispense medications, and support safe, cost-effective pharmacotherapy. This part-time role provides up to 19 hours weekly with every-other weekend coverage at the Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health in Norfolk, VA, focusing on hospitalized and behavioral health patients.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree required (PharmD preferred).
• Active Virginia pharmacist license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Review and dispense medication orders for safety and accuracy.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services including MTM and pharmacokinetic dosing.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize regimens.
• Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding per USP and hospital standards.
• Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety; prevent adverse events.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns; ensure efficient workflow.
• Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance (Joint Commission, state, federal).
