Job summary

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian for a part-time, hybrid position in New Mexico. The role combines in-person monthly visits with extensive remote work, focusing on nutrition assessments and care plans for skilled nursing residents.

Responsibilities include education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to CMS/DOH guidelines, with travel time paid. 15-20 hours weekly, 1 onsite visit per month, flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Current state licensure/certification (if mandated by the state).
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations and develop/monitor plans.
• Proficiency in providing general nutrition interventions.
• Familiarity with state survey processes and adhering to nutrition care regulations.
• Competency in electronic charting systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments on new admissions and quarterly thereafter.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and the care team.
• Ensure compliance with CMS/DOH regulations and other state requirements.
• Monitor resident weight changes weekly/monthly to identify nutrition issues.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care.
• Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits and document findings.
