Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. is seeking a Class A Driver to cover local and regional routes using 45’-53’ reefer trailers. You will safely operate tractors, inspect vehicles, and maintain compliant logs while following safety and food safety procedures.

The role requires 1 year of Class A driving experience with reefer preference, a clean MVR, and strong communication skills. Part-time schedule (30-40 hours) with varying shifts and on-site work at multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience operating Class A vehicles; reefer experience preferred.
• Must have a clean MVR and provide an MVR upon request.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Be able to read written English.
• Capable of following verbal and written instructions.
• Available to work various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor to transport goods locally and regionally.
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.
• Follow safety and food safety procedures for transporting goods.
• Inspect loads to ensure cargo is secure.
• Maintain logs of working hours per regulations.
• Report vehicle defects or incidents.
• Check load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Operate equipment like GPS, tablets, and scanners to share information with bases and other drivers.
• Plan or adjust routes based on conditions.
• Load or unload trucks as needed.
• Follow cargo-related procedures for refrigeration systems.
