Job summary

Oakhurst Community College Center seeks a part-time Child Development Instructor to teach a broad range of courses in child development. Classes may be offered in the evening, on weekends, online, or in hybrid formats at the Oakhurst campus.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction, staying current with regulations, and using diverse teaching methods. Candidates should hold a master’s in related field and a California CC teaching credential.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in child development across multiple formats (face-to-face, online, hybrid).
• Maintain professional conduct and current knowledge of state regulations.
• Develop and provide syllabi, maintain records, and submit grades timely.
• Use varied pedagogies and technology to engage students.

Education

Master’s in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies (specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology)

Bachelor’s in one of the above and master’s social work/education supervision/elementary education/special education/psychology/bilingual education/life management/home economics/family life studies
