Job summary

Mercy Fort Smith Fitness Center is seeking a Part Time Child Care Worker to support children from 6 months to 18 years in a safe, supervised environment. The role includes diapering, feeding infants, calming upset children, and maintaining a clean play area.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and Infant/Child CPR First Aid certification within 90 days. Lifting up to 40 pounds and ability to sit/stand for long periods are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Infant and Child CPR First Aid - Must complete within first 90 days of employment through Mercy
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds; sit/stand for prolonged periods; good oral, auditory and visual skills; calm upset children; use redirection; interpret needs of children; interpret complex instructions; high-level cognitive skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and supervise children from 6 months to 18 years.
• Change diapers/pull-ups and feed infants as needed.
• Calm upset children and use redirection techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness of the children's area.
• Communicate with the Section Manager and Director about safety and behavior concerns.
