Job summary

Mentoring Alliance is seeking a Part Time Child Care Worker to support after-school programming for elementary students. This non-exempt, part-time role averages 17–20 hours per week and emphasizes a ministry-minded approach, excellence, and developing kids to reach their full potential.

You will lead enrichment activities, model positive behavior, and partner with staff to create a safe, loving environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check.
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory).
• Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued.
• Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
• Legally allowed to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license or Valid ID.
• Have dependable transportation.
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead elementary students in enrichment activities after school.
• Foster youth development and serve as a role model to kids in the community.
• Support Mentoring Alliance’s gospel-centered mission in daily activities.
• Commit to a 17–20 hour per week schedule.

Job description

We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to be on our After School team. The Part Time Child Care Worker’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. We are looking for an Part Time Child Care Worker who is devoted to excellence, wholeheartedness, and developing kids to reach their full potential! You have the chance to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community. A Part Time Child Care Worker is non-exempt, part-time position that average 17-20 hours per week.

At Mentoring Alliance After School, we hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. As a Christian ministry we are geared toward serving kids and students in our community by offering awesome after school care and activities.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
• Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred and some post-secondary training highly preferred
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
• Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
• Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
