Middlesex Community College in Lowell (and Bedford) invites applications for part-time chemistry faculty to teach College Chemistry I (CHE 131) and II (CHE 132) in-person lectures and labs beginning Spring 2027. Adjunct faculty may teach up to three courses per semester and support a diverse student population.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry, or closely related field.
• Classroom teaching of high school or college science courses.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, continuous professional improvement, developmental education, inclusive pedagogies and use of technology to support student learning.
• Willingness to work collegially with a diverse body of faculty and staff.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for a group of up to 24 students in a classroom.
• Ability to instruct in CHE 131 and CHE 132.
• Develop and use student-centered pedagogies.
• Develop and use assessment strategies that measure student learning outcomes.
• Develop and apply instructional methods for varying learning styles and abilities.
• Use Blackboard LMS to post syllabi, assignments, and grades.
• Participate in end-of-term grading session of a common final assessment.
