Job summary

LearnWell in Schenectady, NY is seeking a passionate part-time teacher to support adolescent patients in a behavioral health facility. You will plan daily lessons, provide individualized assistance, and track progress in a small class of 8–15 students.

The role runs Monday–Friday from 7:30am to 2:00pm (25 hours/week) and includes PTO, health benefits, and retirement options. NYS teaching license and a 4-year degree are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• New York State teaching license is required.
• Experience with adolescent students in behavioral health settings is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans for adolescent patients.
• Provide individualized support and monitor student progress.
• Communicate student progress with care team as needed.
• Adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and keep attendance/session reports.
• Manage classroom of 8–15 students in a fast-paced setting.

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Schenectady, NY on a part-time basis. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails a 25-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 2pm.
