Job summary

Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, LA, seeks a part-time Medical Assistant for the Wound Care Clinic. Under supervision of the RN or Provider, you will perform clinical duties, coordinate care, collect vitals, assist with exams, document in hospital systems, and support front office tasks.

Required: High School diploma or GED and graduation from a CAAHEP/ABHES‑approved MA program. CMA certification is preferred; 6+ months of related hospital experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from a CAAHEP/ABHES‑approved Medical Assistant program.
• CMA certification preferred; six months of related hospital experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-certification duties and verifies patient coverage for initial visits.
• Assist RN/LPN during intake, including vitals, wound care documentation and photos.
• Record care given and monitor responses to treatment; report changes in patient condition.
• Handle clerical tasks, data entry, and documentation for billing and records.
• Perform Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy related duties as needed after training.
• Support front office staff with scheduling, insurance verification, and charting.
