Job summary

Aylo Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient care in a primary/family practice setting under physician supervision. You will work with patients of all ages and support the clinical team in a fast-paced environment.

Role emphasizes vital signs, injections, blood draws, EKGs, and accurate documentation in the eClinicalWorks EMR. Travel to nearby offices may be required; exceptional patient care is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• MA: Current Medical Assistant Certification/Registration required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.
• 6+ months experience in a clinical private practice preferred.
• Ability to travel to nearby offices as needed.
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, record vital signs, and document in EMR (eClinicalWorks).
• Prepare exam rooms and assist with instruments and equipment.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and rooms.
• Assist with injections and blood draws.
• Perform routine tests and operate diagnostic equipment as needed.
• Enter data in EMR, including vital signs and EKG; order tests if required.
• Schedule tests and procedures for patients.
• Prescribe/communicate medications as directed using e-prescribing.
• Inventory medical supplies and maintain stock.

JOB SUMMARY

The Certified Medical Assistant provides patient care in a primary/family care practice under the direction of a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. In this role, the certified medical assistant serves patients of all ages including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records patient information in electronic medical records system (eClinicalWorks)
• Prepares exam rooms for patients, and setup and assist with instruments and equipment
• Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms
• Inspect patient rooms for cleanliness, comfort, and sanitary conditions
• Give injections or treatment and draws blood
• Perform routine laboratory tests, start, monitors, and discontinue
• Operate diagnostic equipment to administer routine tests
• Key data into electronic medical records; vital signs, performs EKG, spirometry and or other similar office procedures
• Schedule patients for tests and procedures
• Call in, fax and/or e-prescribing required medication
• Inventory and stock medical supplies and materials
• Adhere to all standards of care, Code of Conduct, and HIPAA Compliance
• Assist with other duties as assigned
• General cleaning duties to ensure that the office remains clean and tidy for both patients and staff

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• High School graduate or equivalent education
• LPN- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program with a current practical nurse license
• MA- Current Medical Assistant Certification/Registration required
• Current Basic Life Support card from the American Heart Association
• 6 months+ years working experience in a clinical private practice setting preferred
• Ability to travel to nearby offices as needed
• Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize, and facilitate many on-going tasks
• Must be organized and attentive to detail, and able to work quickly and efficiently to assure patient comfort and satisfaction
• Professional verbal and written communication skillsProfessional appearance
• Positive attitude and ability to effectively work in a team environment
