Job summary

Second Baptist School is seeking a part-time CDL Driver to transport students to and from school activities. Responsibilities include safe operation of a school bus and clear communication of rules and safety practices.

The schedule depends on extracurriculars, typically 10–20 hours per week, with compensation listed as Part-Time/Seasonal/Stipend. A current CDL with passenger endorsement is required, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Reports to the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

• Current CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Ability to operate a vehicle with air brakes (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Skills in organizing resources, being detail-oriented, establishing priorities and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Transport students in a safe and timely manner to and from school activities while following safety procedures and applicable regulations.
• Operate and safely drive a school bus in various weather and road conditions.
• Comply with traffic regulations while operating vehicles safely and courteously.
• Communicate bus rules, safety and behavior requirements to passengers and address improper behavior.
• Communicate with students' parents to address unsafe behavior.
• Assist students and passengers in boarding and unloading the bus when necessary.
