Job summary

North Idaho College’s Workforce Training Center is seeking a part-time Commercial Drivers License Instructor to train the next generation of professional drivers. The role covers behind-the-wheel instruction, range work, backing maneuvers, and real-world proficiency development to prepare students for Idaho’s CDL skills test.

Working with a team of instructors, you will document student performance, verify ELDT requirements, and collaborate with the program coordinator to support student

Qualifications

• Three years full-time experience as a professional Class A truck driver within the last 10 years.
• Must possess and maintain a current Class A CDL.
• Must possess and maintain a current medical card.
• Clean driving record with no violations in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Instruct through behind-the-wheel driving, range work, and backing maneuvers.
• Document student performance and training hours.
• Verify completion of FMCSA ELDT requirements.
• Collaborate with the program coordinator to support student success.
• Maintain vehicle safety and readiness and ensure alignment with standards.
• Flexibility to cover evenings or weekends as needed.
