Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Gilroy is seeking a Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) to deliver and return Penske vehicles to locations and customers. The role moves box trucks up to 26’, with CDL Class A handling tractors/trailers; part-time, on-call, 0–25 hours per week based on business needs.

Qualifications include at least 2 years driving experience and a clean DMV record; CDL Class B is required and Class A preferred. English proficiency is essential; DOT requirements apply.

Qualifications

• 2 years of driving experience.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record.
• CDL Class B license required; must be domiciled in the U.S.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with good customer service.
• English language proficiency required for DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while driving to Penske locations or customer locations.
• Check vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and report problems.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or violations.
• Assist with additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
