Job summary

Washington County is seeking a Part-Time Fixed-Route Transit Operator with a Class B CDL for our Transit Department in Maryland. The role involves safe operation of commercial transit vehicles, passenger assistance, fare collection, and adherence to routes and schedules.

Requires pre-trip inspections, good customer relations, and the ability to follow directions. Reporting to the Transit Operations Supervisor, the position is non-exempt and part-time.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent plus experience operating motorized equipment.
• Good customer relations skills.
• Ability to understand and follow oral/written directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-trip inspections and report defects.
• Transport and discharge passengers per procedures and schedules.
• Assist passengers boarding/disembarking and maintain passenger order.
• Collect fares and ensure adherence to routes and timetables.
• Produce required reports accurately and timely.
