Job summary

The Tops store in Sayre is seeking a friendly cashier to check out customers accurately and provide attentive service. You will handle cash/Credit, operate the register, and help maintain a fast, friendly checkout experience.

Starting pay is $12.00 per hour, with rates determined by experience and labor contract seniority. Key duties include following all regulations and store policies, scanning items, assisting customers, stocking shelves, and keeping the checkout area clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Must be 14 years of age and 18 years of age to perform certain functions/tasks.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding cashier operations, safety, and sanitation
• Check out customers efficiently and accurately using correct scanning method
• Maintain security /minimize losses through awareness of pricing errors, coupons, checks, EBT, WIC, bottom of carriage items, and other transactions
• Provide courteous customer service; using please and thank you smiling, maintain eye contact with customers, and direct them to appropriate manager if necessary
• Stock supplies in immediate area, as well as return shop backs, retrieve carts, and perform miscellaneous cleaning, facing, and straighten various shelf sections
• Handle money, checks, and other media and distinguish between various forms of currency

SUMMARY

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Cashier is responsible for accurately and efficiently checking out customer’s orders, while providing attentive and friendly customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
