Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a part-time cashier in Lindale, TX. You will provide efficient checkout services, bag groceries, and assist customers with questions in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will handle tender transactions, maintain accuracy, and promote store programs while upholding safety standards and company policies. Training is available, with opportunities for growth across Brookshire's banners.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience with cash registers and tender policies.
• Good math and counting skills.
• Ability to learn new technology systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• TABC/LACT certification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct checkout totals by weighing, keying, and scanning items.
• Maintain accurate money count in register.
• Memorize product codes and stay updated on ads and specials.
• Follow tender policies and procedures related to checks, credit, debit, etc.
• Greet customers and assist with questions; promote products.
• Assist with enrollment in the Thank You Card program where applicable.
• Bag groceries properly and limit bag weight; prevent cross-contamination.
• Keep front-end racks and coolers stocked and clean; maintain safety.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws regarding restricted items.
