Job summary

Bomgaars in Fort Dodge, IA is seeking a friendly cashier for a part-time, onsite role. You will greet customers, operate the cash register, scan and bag items, process returns, promote loyalty programs, balance drawers, and keep the checkout area organized.

Ideal candidates have cashier or retail experience, can multi-task, and are able to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible shifts including weekends are available, with a weekend shift premium. Wage offered is $12.00 per hour with an employee discount.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Cashier and retail experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Detail oriented.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be available to work flexible schedules - days, evenings, weekends (shift premium paid for working weekends)

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers
• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately (cash, correct change, credit cards, debit cards, and checks)
• Scan and bag items for customers
• Process customer returns and exchanges according to store policy
• Promote store loyalty programs/special promotions/coupon redemption
• Balance cash drawers at the end of the shift
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout area
• Stocking the front end of the store
• Handling phone calls
