Job summary

UNFI is hiring a Cashier to provide prompt, friendly service and operate the register in a fast-paced store environment. You will handle transactions, process coupons and payments, and assist customers with finding items.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and adherence to applicable policies. This position is on-site and includes standard retail hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
• Operates cash register and scans products accurately.
• Redeems coupons, food stamps, WIC checks, rain checks, and processes payments.
• Stocks and rotates merchandise and keeps shelves tidy.
• Answers customer questions and guides them to appropriate personnel.
• Adheres to local, state, and company policies on tobacco, liquor, WIC and food stamps.
