Job summary

Meijer Inc. is hiring a friendly Cashier in Cincinnati to deliver efficient, welcoming service at the checkout. You’ll help customers, operate the register, process payments, and keep checkout areas organized and fast.

Qualifications

• You’re 18 years of age or older.
• You enjoy working with people and providing great service.
• You’re comfortable learning and using technology.
• You listen well, communicate clearly, and stay organized.
• You’re dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to help.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
• You have the ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• As a Cashier, you are the last touchpoint a customer has before leaving our store.
• You'll: Become knowledgeable on Meijer programs and promotions to best assist customers
• Create welcoming, memorable checkout experiences that leave a lasting impression
• Use Meijer systems to complete transactions efficiently and accurately
• Handle cash and payments responsibly, with attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and confidently, using friendly eye contact and positive body language
• Answer customer questions and help resolve concerns with care
• Build trust and connection that encourages customers to return
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
