Job summary

UC San Diego Health is a Magnet-designated organization and seeks a part-time Registered Nurse to support cardiac catheterization procedures. The RN circulator will assess patients, deliver care, and ensure accurate electronic documentation.

Candidates must be CA-licensed, with BLS/CPR and ACLS, and at least one year of acute care RN experience in Cardiac Cath Lab; RCIS/CEN/CCRN certifications are preferred. This role requires teamwork, critical thinking, and the ability to wear a lead apron.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Minimum one year of recent acute care RN experience in Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.
• Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and deliver care during cardiac and peripheral vascular catheterization procedures.
• Circulate or monitor diagnostic and interventional procedures for coronary, carotid, renal, and lower extremity cases.
• Direct and provide guidance to other healthcare team members as needed, promoting compliance and supporting policies.
• Build trust in professional collegial relationships while maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude.
• Support an excellent AMI program.
