Job summary

Dominican University New York seeks a part-time, term-based Nurse Practitioner to deliver primary and urgent health care at the Student Health Center on campus for Fall and Spring semesters, about 14 hours/week (2 days).

The NP will perform assessments, diagnose, treat, provide follow-up care, health education, and emergency care, while coordinating referrals and supporting campus health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Current New York State Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license, Family or Adult NP.
• National Certification in specialty.
• >3,600 hours of relevant NP experience.
• Experience in outpatient/college health or ER preferred.
• DEA registration required.
• BLS/AED for health care providers.

Responsibilities

• Participate in acute and chronic management of patients.
• Perform history and physical exams; develop management plans.
• Develop care plans, prepare orders, and prescribe medications.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Communicate findings and follow-up plans to patients.
