Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis seeks a part-time ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services for signed and spoken discourse across classrooms and campus events. Flexibility in weekday hours from 8am to 10pm and occasional weekend work is expected.

The role requires fluent ASL and spoken English, accurate interpreting skills, and adherence to NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct; data handling will follow FERPA and college policies.

Qualifications

• Associates, Bachelors or Masters level degree OR 3 years of Professional Interpreting Experience
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and English
• Nationally and State certified or working towards certification

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services to Ivy Tech students, faculty, staff and visitors.
• Interpret signed and spoken discourse in classroom and non-academic assignments.
• Meet with interpreter coordinator, preview available materials, and prepare for assignments; confirm all assignments with coordinator.
