Job summary

Work Training Center in Chico, CA seeks a Bus Driver to operate vans/buses and transport clients to various programs and locations. You will assist with loading/unloading and act as an interoffice courier between WTC locations.

The role requires a California Class B Passenger endorsed license with VDDP endorsement, DOT medical, 21+ age, and a valid First Aid/CPR certificate. Regular safety and community interactions are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education with the ability to safely operate a passenger van/bus.
• Ability to work with persons with disabilities.
• Preferred experience transporting and/or working with persons with disabilities.
• Commitment to the Work Training Center and its mission, plus professional representation of Transportation and Operations.
• Willingness to work a varied schedule.
• Adherence to issued uniform and safety PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a variety of vans/busses, adhering to traffic laws and the WTC Vehicle Handbook.
• Loads/unloads clients manually or with lifting devices.
• Transports clients on required routes to destinations.
• Follows established routes and times, adjusting as needed.
• Performs DMV pre-trip inspection and reports maintenance issues.
• Makes independent judgments on unusual traffic/road conditions.
• Interacts with clients, parents, and community positively.
• Maintains timely and accurate reports as required.
