Job summary

Altorfer Inc in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Part-time Driver to safely transport employees and customers across the Altorfer territory, including Illinois, southeastern Iowa, northern Missouri, and parts of Indiana. You will drive, plan routes, and ensure passenger safety and comfort on all trips.

The role requires a valid Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements, a clean driving record, and strong communication skills. Weekend availability and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsement.
• Maintain a valid license and clean driving record; an MVR check will be done.
• US DOT regulations knowledge for commercial vehicle operation.
• FMCSA regulations knowledge and timely DOT physical.
• Defensive driving skills; stay calm under stress.
• Safely operate 45-foot coaches and other company vehicles in all weather.
• Ability to load/unload baggage up to 100 pounds.
• Read, write and speak English fluently; additional languages helpful.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles on routes and to destinations per schedule, ensuring safe rides.
• Research traffic, weather delays; report delays or accidents.
• Collect tickets or fares and verify identification.
• Assist passengers, help with baggage, ensure seating and route questions.
• Load and unload baggage when needed.
• Ensure passenger safety and conduct, manage disruptions.
• Keep mileage, repair, and manifest records up to date.
• Inspect vehicle fuel, oil, and water; perform minor repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bus, restrooms; use external cleaners when approved.
• Record post-trip tasks and report inventory.
