Job summary

Shadow Ridge High School – Surprise, AZ is seeking a part-time Boys Basketball Varsity Assistant Coach (0.5 FTE) to support the athletics program. The role reports to the Assistant Principal of Athletics and requires NFHS certifications or equivalent teaching/coaching credentials.

Responsibilities include coaching student athletes, organizing the sports program, and building positive relationships with students and staff while upholding high ethical standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona teacher or coaching certification (or NFHS Level 1) is required for head/varsity positions.
• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Must obtain and maintain NFHS certifications as listed.

Responsibilities

• Coach student athletes in the area of assigned responsibility.
• Organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
