Job summary

Central Michigan University’s CMU Bookstore is seeking a part-time, temporary bookstore associate to assist customers, process sales, and keep shelves organized.

Responsibilities include helping students find books, using a POS register, buying back used textbooks at semester end, and supporting busy periods before and after the start of classes. No benefits are offered for this temporary position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 20–30 pounds or more and stand for long periods.
• Availability during start/end of each semester and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Charge customers for purchases using POS and various payment methods.
• Assist students in locating textbooks and provide shelving support.
• Reshelve and straighten books in the textbook department.
• Pull books for specific orders.
• Buy back used textbooks at semester end.
