Job summary

The Central Pennsylvania Research and Teaching Laboratory for Biofuels at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking part-time research assistants to support metabolic engineering of industrial hemp. Responsibilities include preparing tissue culture media, hormones, and sterile culture of explants.

Also involved are DNA, RNA and protein isolation, routine lab maintenance, data collection and analysis, and potential co-authorship on publications.

Qualifications

• Experience with sterile techniques in a biosafety setting.
• Hands-on work with tissue culture and explants.
• Proficiency in basic molecular biology methods.

The Central Pennsylvania Research and Teaching Laboratory for Biofuels (CPRTLB) is looking to hire part-time research assistants to assist with metabolic engineering of industrial hemp.

• Preparation of tissue culture media, growth hormones and culture of explants under sterile conditions.
• Assist with DNA, RNA and Protein isolation.
• Routine upkeep of the laboratory and Greehouse.
• Collect, analyze data and involve in publishing papers as co- authors.
• Assist with working on cancer cell lines and engineering cannabinoid pathway genes in E.Coli.
• Assist PI and Director of the laboratory with other duties as assigned.
